Seussical Production

By Makenna DeBusi, February 19, 2025

The cat in the Hat, the Lorax, and a whole cast of fun characters have leaped from the pages of Dr. Seuss onto the Daniel Boone stage with the annual production of Seussical. With fun costumes, energetic choreography, and a creative set design, the show has brought these childhood stories we all know and love to life.

The show ultimately brings the audience into the colorful world of Dr. Seuss. Each character brings something special to the stage, making it a great show for all ages.

Bringing this musical to life has taken a lot of work from the students. The cast and crew have spent lots of time after school in rehearsals, making sure the choreography, lighting, and transitions were perfect. The set, designed by the school, has brought lots of life to the auditorium stage with bright colors and iconic Truffula trees. Behind the scenes, the school’s tech crew has made sure that microphones are on and everything goes smoothly.

Seussical has become a yearly tradition at Daniel Boone, one that upcoming students are able to look forward to. For the seniors involved, the show is something that they will always remember when looking back at their senior year. Reflecting on the hard work they put in to make the show a success.

The production runs on Friday, February 28th at 6:30 PM and Saturday, March 1st at 1:00 PM at the high school. Admissions are completely free, so make sure to bring your friends and family. Don’t miss this iconic performance of Seussical!

New York City: Perspective from the Manhattan Vanderbilt Building

By Laylah Wicker, October 28, 2024

New York has many great sites to see, but it can be hard to find all of them in a span of just a few days. The New York Summit One Vanderbilt building in Manhattan has one of the highest views that overlooks the entire city. You have the opportunity to see a 360 view of the boroughs of Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan and parts of New Jersey. It is a beautiful experience and something I believe everyone should have the chance to see. Check out the images from Laylah here.

Can I Tell You A Secret?

By Therylee Phanor, October 22, 2024

What really happened that night? What would you do if an unexpected, strange phenomenon occurred during a school play that no one could explain? These are the questions for our drama’s upcoming play, although the details on this play are a well kept secret, there’s a lot of buzz on what might happen on stage.

The cast and crew have been working nonstop to be prepared for the show days but they have remained tightlipped on this show. What we do know is that it’s going to be intense and full of surprises, leaving the audience talking about it for days. If you like mystery and suspense then this is definitely a performance you would enjoy and would not want to miss. Everyone involved has promised that it will be one of the unforgettable shows the drama club has put on.

Students are buzzing in the hallways, teachers are curious, and everyone wonders the same thing. What will happen when those curtains open? One teacher said “Not knowing what the play was made it much more interesting. Usually you have an idea of what to expect but with this we’re a part of the show, somewhat.” Another student stated “It’s different from the other shows I’ve seen. Everyones excited to see what’s gonna happen, I’ve already got my ticket.” But beyond that? I guess you just have to wait and see.
